Activities at St Michael's

These are some of the activities and societies associated with St Michael's. You can find more Benefice-wide activities in the "What We Do" section of the main menu on the left.

Parish Choir

Blewbury Church Choir is affiliated to the RSCM, and sings at all main church services. Junior choristers are especially encouraged, and many have won awards and gone on to sing in numerous college, university, and church choirs. We practise on Monday evenings. For more details, please get in touch with Freda Chapman, the Choir Mistress, on (01235) 850503.

Sunday School

On Parish Eucharist Sundays in term-time, there is a Sunday school which begins at 10.30am. Any children aged 3 to 9 years are very welcome to attend. The Sunday School join the Parish Eucharist in time for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Very young children are welcome in the children's corner in church.

Bell-ringers

The tower is rung every Sunday morning and for special occasions. Practice night is Friday 8-9.30pm. The Blewbury bell-ringers are associated with the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Bellringers.

Teas in church

In the summer months, teas are served in church on Sunday afternoons, from 3 to 5pm.

Fair Trade Stall

On the 4th Sunday of every month, we run a Fair Trade stall in church. This is an opportunity to buy tea, coffee, biscuits, and other products in the knowledge that the original growers have received a fair price for their produce.

St Michael's & Blewbury Festival

Most years we have a Church Fete, held in the early summer. This year we joined in various events during the Blewbury Festival.

We had several stalls at the village day. Our youth group WON the festival scarecrow competition with a fantastic rendition of Morgan Jones an old curate of Blewbury. The teas were as popular as ever - best in Blewbury. Everyone was buzzing about the art exhibition in St Michael's. The doodle art charity dip made money for the Gap and Stepping Stones.
