Weddings
Weddings can be booked at the Benefice Centre office on Saturday mornings between 9am and 11am-- no appointment is necessary. Enquiries can be made by phone on 01235 850267.
Everyone who lives within the parish boundaries of Blewbury, Hagbourne, and Upton, or who is a regular worshipper at one of our churches, has the legal right to be married in their respective parish church. Divorcees with a previous partner still living may be married in church subject to the guidelines set forward by the Church of England and the Diocese of Oxford. Where a couple both live outside the parish boundaries, it may be possible to apply for a special licence: please get in touch if you'd like to discuss this possibility.
Statutory fees are charged for the wedding services, with additional charges for church bells, organist, and choir, if required.
Marriage Preparation Day
Each year, usually in the Spring, our churches run a marriage preparation day. This is an opportunity to explore the joys and the practicalities of married life, and is highly recommended for all couples planning to marry. There are talks, help with planning your service, an opportunity to meet other couples planning their wedding, and lunch is provided (shown right).
Thanksgivings for Marriage
Married couples wishing to celebrate an anniversary are invited to book a service of "Thanksgiving for Marriage" by contacting one of the clergy.
